What This IEP Test Score Calculator Shows You
Every standardized test your kid takes at school has a margin of error. A WIAT-4 reading score of 85 is not actually 85. It is “85, give or take a few points” at a 95% confidence interval. That wiggle room matters a lot when the team is debating whether a kid qualifies for services or meets a cutoff score.
This IEP test score calculator does the math for you. Enter a standard score, pick the test, and you will see the 95% confidence interval, the 68% confidence interval, and what those ranges really mean for eligibility decisions.
Two situations where it is especially useful. First, when a team says “your child scored 82 and we need an 80 to qualify,” you can show the real range and argue that the true score may well be below 80. Second, when you are comparing two scores (reading is 88, spelling is 79), the calculator helps you see whether that is a real gap or statistical noise.
