Reading Profile Builder

How the Reading Profile Builder Works

A reading profile is the pattern of strengths and weaknesses across your child’s reading subtests. It is what tells the evaluation team whether you are looking at a word-level problem (decoding, phonological processing), a fluency problem, a comprehension problem, or some combination. The reading profile builder below turns that pattern into a one-page visual you can bring to an IEP meeting.

Here is why that matters. Most evaluation reports bury the profile inside fifteen pages of dense narrative. The IEP meeting moves fast. The team cites composites. Decisions get made. You walk out wondering what just happened.

Paste in your child’s scores from the CTOPP-2, WIAT-4, WJ-IV, or similar assessments, and the reading profile builder maps them onto the four main reading domains: phonological processing, word reading and decoding, reading fluency, and reading comprehension. You can see at a glance whether the school’s proposed services actually match where your kid is struggling.
